COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Police officers rescued two young children locked inside a hot car at Cumberland Mall on June 4, thanks to quick action by concerned bystanders.

Body camera footage released by the department shows officers responding to the scene after 911 calls reported the children in distress. The outside temperature and enclosed vehicle created dangerous conditions that could have quickly turned fatal.

Officers swiftly acted to remove the children from the vehicle, ensuring their safety and providing care until medical personnel arrived.

Authorities praised the citizens who made the emergency call, stating their awareness and response were critical in preventing tragedy.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, especially during hot weather.
