This is the moment an eagle-eyed driver stopped at a zebra crossing to wait for a stray cat to cross.

Mr Wei was navigating the empty road when he spotted the feline waiting on the pedestrian lane in Jiangxi, China.

Despite the cat nearly blending in with the white stripes, the quick-thinking man was able to halt immediately to let the animal cross.

Dashcam footage shows the animal sitting next to a traffic cone on June 15. Upon seeing the car stop, it immediately bolted toward the roadside.

Mr Wei said: 'I was afraid for the cat, and fortunately I was able to spot it even though it was already dark.'
