Storyline: Fishermen reap bumper harvest in China's coastal provinces [Voice_over] Fisheries in China's eastern coastal provinces are reporting robust summer harvests, signaling a strong season for the region's aquaculture sector. It's all about bighead carp at Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang Province. On this day 80 percent of the 40,000 kilo haul is made of up the fish. Local fishermen say the bighead carp seem to be larger this year, thanks to efficient farming practices. [Sound_bite] Zhiqing, fisherman: "I estimate that today's catch is about 40,000 to 45,000 kilograms, and the fish are also relatively large. The main species is bighead carp, accounting for about 80 percent of our harvest. It indicates that this year is another good harvest year for our fishermen." Farmers here prefer to harvest the sea creatures at night when conditions are best, with total seasonal output expected to exceed 30,000 metric tons.
