Los Angeles, United States - July 08, 2025 07/08/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 PASADENA, Calif. – A protest occurred outside the Courtyard by Marriott on Fair Oaks Avenue as demonstrators gathered to challenge the presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents believed to be staying at the hotel. The protest aimed to disrupt hotel operations and drive the agents away. Many of the protesters expressed concerns about a potential increase in immigration enforcement and called on the community to join their cause. One demonstrator spoke passionately about the need for solidarity, saying, “We’ve got to stand with each other. We’ve got to be united. … I’m supporting them … For those ones that cannot do this, that cannot come out.” The protester described the emotional strain caused by recent raids, specifically mentioning actions that had taken place in MacArthur Park that morning. “Yeah, I saw that in the news," the protester said. "Seeing stuff like that around town with really no intent, it brings fear. I have kids, and I don’t know what’s going to be my next day. If I’m going to be able to walk to the store, come back to my kids, or have that fear that they’re going to grab me and take me, and not see my family again. Seeing my little one with that fear in her face, asking me not to go out, not to do this, but I’m tired of being home, I’m tired of hiding! I’m tired of seeing all those families getting rid of. I’m tired of seeing even kids, you know, crying for their families.” The small protest was eventually dispersed by the Pasadena Police Department around 1:40 a.m. without any incidents or arrests. Security at the hotel claimed that ICE Agents were not staying at the hotel.
