US: Texas flash floods kill over 100 as search for missing continues

KERR COUNTY, US - JULY 9, 2025: Search and rescue operations continued on Wednesday, July 9, in Kerr County, Texas, after a catastrophic flash flood killed more than 100 people and left at least 161 others missing. Footage from the disaster zone shows ongoing rescue efforts, with teams scouring the mud-covered areas and helicopters aiding in the search for the missing. The flash flood struck in the early hours of July 4, when the Guadalupe River surged by 26 feet (7.9 meters) in just 45 minutes following heavy rainfall. The river ultimately crested at more than 39 feet (11.8 meters), surpassing the region's second-largest modern flood in 1987.
