Dozens of bonfires built across Northern Ireland for annual tradition
Dozens of huge bonfires have been built across Northern Ireland as part of an annual Protestant and Unionist tradition celebrating the victory of William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne.
Among those built is the huge Craigyhill bonfire in Larne which is 190 feet high with a 30t beacon on top.
Stunning drone footage shows the bonfire as it is finished,
The bonfire was built using around 290 pallets, which were hoisted onto the upper levels.
Bonfires are lit across the region on the night of July 11, ahead of the main Twelfth of July parades.
This year's Craigyhill bonfire has been marred by controversy after reports emerged that some of the pallets used were branded property of companies such as CHEP and LPR, firms that lease pallets to businesses and do not authorize their public use.
Tesco is investigating claims that pallets from its Scottish distribution network were taken and used on the site without permission.
Environmental and health risks have also been raised.
Burning treated wood and other materials can release harmful chemicals and leaves behind debris, including metal nails, prompting criticism from environmental groups and waste authorities.
