A Chinese tourist was arrested in a luxury pool villa after bragging about his guns online in Thailand.

Liu Feng, 47, reportedly posted selfies of himself posing with the illegal firearms on his social media profile.

Footage shows him loading bullets into a pistol and cocking the gun in his lavish 200 square metre property in 'Sin City' Pattaya.

Police raided his home on Tuesday, July 8, following a tipoff about his unauthorised gun collection. They combed through the two-storey estate worth more than 10 million Baht (225,340 GBP), where they found Liu in his bedroom wearing only boxer shorts.

They discovered two BB guns and 16 9mm bullets stored in a safe in his wardrobe. However, no firearms were found.

During questioning, Liu said he only possessed BB guns. He claimed the firearms he was seen holding in the video belonged to his friends or were borrowed from shooting ranges in the area.

He allegedly said: 'I borrowed them so I could take pictures to show off on social media. As for the ammunition, they belonged to a friend who left it with me.'

Police Major Somchanok Chaiprasertsakul of Tourist Police said: ‘We have handed over the suspect and the seized items to the inquiry officer for further legal action.'
