WIDE SHOT OF PARK AS PEOPLE WALK AROUND PARIS, FRANCE - JUNE 26: The forecourt of Paris’s historic Hôtel de Ville has been transformed into an urban forest as part of the city’s efforts to tackle global warming and reduce urban heat island effects. An elegant showcase of Renaissance architecture in central Paris, the town hall has endured through the centuries and continues to serve as a popular gathering spot for Parisians today. Spanning 2,500 square meters, the newly greened space features 50 trees and over 20,000 plants, providing a cooler, shaded refuge during the city’s hot summer months. The project was officially inaugurated on June 21 with a music festival. Designed to boost biodiversity and improve the quality of public spaces, the initiative includes native and climate-resilient plant species, offering Parisians a much-needed environmental and social sanctuary in the heart of the city.
