Phoenix, United States - July 10, 2025 07/10/2025 1:30 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to the Phoenix Police Department commander at the scene, Tempe police attempted to stop a Lincoln SUV at an unknown location within the city of Tempe. The SUV refused to yield and began fleeing westbound, into the city of Phoenix. Tempe police requested assistance from Phoenix police as the suspect crossed the city line. Phoenix Police Department's Tactical Support Bureau units and the air unit responded to assist. The PPD helicopter quickly located the suspect in the south Phoenix area and began assisting ground units with aerial surveillance. The suspect led officers through the south Phoenix area before fleeing north on 7th Avenue, eventually entering the eastbound I-10. Moments later, the suspect entered the northbound SR-51. The suspect exited the 51 at Highland Avenue and entered the parking garage of an apartment building near Highland Avenue and 24th Street. The suspect drove to the 5th floor of the garage and fled from the vehicle on foot. Officers from the Tempe Police Traffic Unit and Phoenix police quickly converged on the garage, locating the suspect on the ground floor level. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene to evaluate the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital due to a minor leg injury he sustained while fleeing on foot. The Tempe PD is the lead agency regarding this incident.
