This is the heart-stopping moment a family narrowly escaped a landslide just seconds before it crushed a digger against their home, trapping the driver inside.

CCTV footage shows a group of people noticing unusual movement on the embankment in front of their home in Jingu Village, Jingu Township, Hechi City.

A piece of heavy equipment was seen manoeuvring near the slope, with the operator seemingly unaware of the imminent danger, on June 29.

A woman attempted to alert him, but her warning came too late. The earth gave way, and a massive landslide barreled towards the building, effortlessly pushing the digger along with it.

The driver remained trapped in his cabin as the landslide slammed the machine into a wall, nearly crushing it. The equipment came to a sudden stop, leaving him unharmed.

No casualties were reported, with local media saying that the authorities sent geological experts to the scene to investigate.

Staff from the Donglan County Natural Resources Bureau said cleanup operations will begin once the on-site assessment is complete in Guangxi, China.
