Tractors clear aftermath of Nenana Ridge Complex Fire in Alaska
Tractors were deployed to clear debris and scorched vegetation left behind by the Nenana Ridge Complex Fire in Alaska.
Footage shows the heavy machinery tackling the burned fields in the region on July 5.
The complex combines the 12,133-acre Bonanza Creek Fire and the 18,086-acre Riley Fire due to their proximity. Around 360 personnel and extensive resources are currently engaged in battling the fires.
On Friday, firefighters set trees ablaze to create firebreaks and halt the spread of the blaze.
Authorities explained that this deliberate burning clears underbrush and debris, creating a barrier to prevent the flames from advancing further.
The Nenana Ridge Complex fire was first discovered on June 19, approximately 20 miles southwest of Fairbanks.
