Los Angeles, United States - July 11, 2025 07/10/2025 07:00 pm GMT-0700 HYDE PARK, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway in the area of Hyde Park and Crenshaw, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Division. According to the LAPD, a uniformed Gang Enforcement Detail unit observed two men in a physical altercation on the west sidewalk of southbound Crenshaw Boulevard, south of Hyde Park Boulevard. One of the men was armed with a gun and fired at least one round. When the officers stopped and exited their vehicle, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire and fell to the ground, where he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. The LAPD stated that the other person involved in the altercation was not injured and is being interviewed by detectives. No officers were injured during the incident. The suspect's firearm at the scene was collected as evidence.
