Woman has meltdown over cancelled flight - calls airline worker a 'b****'
A passenger had a complete meltdown in an airport after learning her flight had been cancelled.
Erianne Freign, 27, was among the passengers left stranded when her Norse Atlantic Airways flight from Paris to New York was cancelled on July 3.
While trying to rebook at the check-in desk, Erianne witnessed a fellow passenger losing her temper with an airline staff member.
According to Erianne, the woman was frustrated that the airline wouldn't provide hotel accommodation for her family after the flight was cancelled.
A video shows the unnamed woman screaming at an airline employee, calling her a "b****" before being escorted behind the desk by security."
Erianne, a model from Paris, France, said: "It was quite an intense reaction."
"I understand why she would be upset because the airline was being so unhelpful."
"She just wanted some accommodation for her and her two kids because they had cancelled the flight in the middle of the night."
"She also said she was diabetic and needed her medication."
"You can tell she was in a panic but I don't think she should have used such strong language."
"Especially because the people on the desk aren't responsible."
Passengers on flight N0301 from Paris to New York were notified via email that their flight had been cancelled due to technical issues just before midnight.
Upon receiving the email, many rushed to the desk to rebook or ask about accommodations.
Erianne said passengers were told they'd have to cancel their original booking themselves and find new flights and accommodation on their own.
Erianne said: "Everyone was already at the airport."
"We asked for solutions to rebook our flight and sleep somewhere for the night. "
"They told us that we have to cancel this one on our own then rebook another ticket from another airline but the prices were ridiculous. "
"After that, the people that couldn't afford another flight were trying to find a hotel to sleep in."
"But because this happened during the night, that's not the easiest thing to do. "
"Some of them slept at the airport with their kids, including this woman."
Erianne eventually rebooked her flight with a different airline, paying double the price of her original ticket.
Erianne said: "I was able to rebook on a different flight, but it cost me £952 ($1,285) because it was so last minute."
"I still haven't gotten a refund from my original flight but I am emailing with them."
"I've just been really disappointed with how it was handled."
Norse Atlantic Airways is yet to respond to a request for comment.
