Phoenix, United States - July 11, 2025 07/11/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 PEORIA, Ariz. – Peoria police officers and Peoria Fire Medical crews responded to initial reports of a shooting near the 8700 block of North 83rd Avenue around 2:30 a.m. A large scene was located to the west of the reported shooting location, at a residence on El Caminito Drive near 83rd Avenue. Peoria police surrounded the home and issued several commands to the occupants inside. Several people exited the home and were detained while officers conducted their investigation. Officers deployed a drone to check the backyard of the home for any occupants. Multiple officers with rifles and a shield made entry into the home. The residence was declared clear of any additional occupants a short time later. According to a Peoria Police Department watch commander at the scene, one gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported from the 8700 block of 83rd Avenue near the Pioneer Park entrance, prior to officers making contact with the residence on El Caminito Drive. Peoria police officers are working to determine how the two locations are connected.
