Los Angeles, United States - July 11, 2025 07/11/2025 02:40 am GMT-0700 BALDWIN PARK, Calif. – Authorities received multiple 911 calls reporting a traffic collision on the westbound 10 Freeway near the 605 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a person leaving the scene was struck by a vehicle on the southbound 605 Freeway while attempting to merge onto the westbound 10 Freeway. The victim, whose identity and role in the initial vehicle remain unclear, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased at the hospital early this morning. The driver of the car that struck the victim fled the scene. In response to the incident, CHP closed the westbound 10 Freeway at both the northbound and southbound 605 Freeway intersections to facilitate their investigation. Additionally, reports indicated that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian had been traveling from the northbound 605 Freeway to the westbound 10 Freeway when it exited.
