Bakersfield, United States - July 11, 2025 07/11/2025 02:16 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Bakersfield police are investigating a possible fatal shooting that occurred early in the morning on Padre Street, east of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The incident was initially reported as a domestic stabbing around 2:16 a.m. While officers were en route, dispatchers received additional reports that the reporting party had heard shots. Responding officers cleared the residence upon arrival. Medical personnel responded and transported one victim to the hospital with injuries described as possibly major. The coroner also responded to the scene, though it is not confirmed if anyone died at the location. Detectives have been called to investigate. The Bakersfield Police Department is leading the response.
