GAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 11, 2025: At least 15 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces across the Gaza Strip on Friday, including 10 civilians shot while waiting for humanitarian aid in the Al-Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah in southern Gaza, according to Palestinian media and medical sources. Medics told Anadolu that Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of Palestinians gathered to receive food and other basic supplies, killing 10 and wounding more than 60 others. Footage from the Zikim area in northern Gaza shows Palestinian men transporting the body of an aid seeker on a bicycle following an Israeli attack, while others are seen moving toward the aid distribution point. Additional scenes show civilians carrying sacks of flour and aid parcels amid the chaos. In a statement released Thursday, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the number of aid seekers killed by Israeli fire since May 27 has risen to 782, with 5,179 others wounded. At least 41 people remain missing, according to a separate statement issued the same day by the Gaza government's media office. The so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Aid Foundation" backed by the U.S. and Israel, has been criticized by Palestinian officials and international observers as a death trap. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 57,800 Palestinians so far, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages and spread of disease. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
