This is the amusing moment an affectionate otter played with electricians working in a forest.

Pasit Bunthaosook and his colleagues were fixing a damaged wire when the wild mustelid approached them for attention in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand.

Footage shows the aquatic mammal inching forward toward one of the workers laying out the black cable on the ground on June 25.

Moments later, the man extended his hand toward the animal, which sniffed him, while another electrician tightened the wire in place.

Pasit said: 'It was our first time seeing an otter up close, and it was very friendly.'

Otters are social, playful, and curious animals that use their whiskers to explore, communicate through sounds and gestures, and are skilled swimmers who also roam on land.
