Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from multiple neighborhoods following the bombardment, which caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure. The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 7,311 people and injured 26,054 others, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.
