This is the terrifying moment light fittings swayed as a magnitude 5.2 earthquake shook Spain this morning.

Footage captured by Jose Manuel Navarro shows a ceiling fixture swinging as tremors rattled the region on Monday, July 14, around 7:13 am CET.

Jose said: 'My location is Huercal de Almeria. I recorded it from the door frame because it had already stopped.'

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported the epicentre was located 24 kilometres east-southeast of San Jose at a depth of 10 kilometres.

No casualties or significant damage have been reported.
