BELL COUNTY, Texas — The Bell County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to remain alert as water levels rise rapidly at the Lampasas River along Texas 195, reaching 18 to 20 feet and forecasted to climb to 40 feet, according to a July 13 update.

Texas Game Warden Swift Water Rescue boat crews have arrived at the Southwestern Bell County Fire Department and are on standby to assist with any potential rescues. Heavy rainfall and lightning continue to impact west Bell County, compounding the risk of flash flooding.

Authorities remind drivers to slow down, maintain a safe distance, and avoid flooded roadways. Residents are also urged to stay indoors when lightning is present and monitor official weather updates closely.
