Singer James Morrison stages surprise gig from restaurant balcony with his daughter
Singer James Morrison has been spotted staging a surprise gig with his daughter from a restaurant balcony.
The artist known for tracks like Broken Strings and You Give Me Something sang several songs on the top of Amalfi Restaurant & Pizzeria in Nailsworth, Glocs., on Saturday afternoon.
The singer-songwriter - who lives in the Stroud area - performed his new song Fight Another Day and Just Like A Child with his daughter Elsie.
Elsie also sang a cover of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing.
Speaking on the balcony, James said: "I think we've got time for a couple more songs. "
"You've been absolutely amazing, give it up for Elsie!"
This comes after the singer's courageous return to the stage over a year after his partner's death.
He was away from the spotlight since his partner's death in January 2024.
The singer-songwriter was left 'devastated' when he found his former fiancée, Gill Catchpole, dead at their home aged 45.
An inquest later concluded that she took her own life by hanging, having left a series of handwritten notes behind for her loved ones.
His surprise performance comes ahead of the release of his sixth album, Fight Another Day, on October 3.
