JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — During a heavy thunderstorm this week, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer K. Waters went above and beyond while on patrol in District 2. He spotted a stranded SUV dangerously close to highway traffic, with a family and children inside — and no working phone.

Fearing a potential collision in the rain, Officer Waters used his patrol car’s bumper to gently push the disabled vehicle out of harm’s way. He then stayed with the family until a tow truck and relatives arrived.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office highlighted the moment on social media, reminding drivers to slow down, turn on headlights, and stay alert during severe weather.
