This is the hilarious moment a stray dog stole a lad's shoe and bolted away playfully.

Footage shows the brown aspin gripping the rubber sandal in its mouth and dashing around in circles like it was inviting a chase in Masbate, the Philippines.

The pooch refused to let go and looked back while the youngster followed, walking with one bare foot, as he pleaded with the pooch to give it back.

Laughter erupted when the canine dropped the shoe to tease the teenager, only to snatch it again and sprint away.

Onlooker Myk Jazul Del Rosario says in the video: ‘Give it back now. Go get it, the dog hid in the motorbike.'

The dog did not return the shoe and instead hid it behind a parked motorcycle before the owner finally retrieved it on July 12.
