Israel - July 15, 2025 During a proactive patrol, police in Modi'in and Modi'in Illit spotted a suspicious vehicle. The driver refused to stop and fled the scene, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle was eventually stopped on the outskirts of the city, and the driver was found to be a 15-year-old boy from the West Bank. He was arrested, questioned, and later taken into custody. Police are expected to request an extension of his detention. According to police data, there has been a 6.5% decrease in vehicle thefts since the beginning of the year, alongside a 12% increase in arrests related to such offenses. In the first half of the year, police recovered 1,952 stolen vehicles thanks to active enforcement efforts.
