A news reporter stood in knee-deep floodwaters while covering severe flooding in Indonesia.

Footage shows the journalist from TVOne News wearing a red jacket as he waited for a live broadcast in the middle of a street in Tangerang City, Banten.

He can be seen holding a microphone while standing in front of the camera on July 9.

Moments later, he began dancing the trendy racetrack boat dance, slightly bending down and moving his arms up and down before delivering his weather report.

Filmer Parhana Putri said: 'Despite what is happening, the reporter was just trying to make the situation lighter and show resilience in the face of the flood.'

Locals have been experiencing heavy downpours, prompting rescue teams to evacuate neighbourhoods across the region.

Other companies have pledged goods and donations to support victims of the storm.

The country has seen significantly heavier rainfall than usual for the dry season this month, driven by unique climate patterns.

Widespread localized flooding and weather disruptions have been reported, with forecasts indicating that these wetter conditions may persist into October.
