A neighbor shared a stunning rooftop garden nestled between Manhattan skyscrapers she's quietly admired from her window - and received an invite to visit it in person.

Sasha Aaron, 30 - who lives beside the building - posted footage of the spectacular hidden oasis on social media and revealed she's been watching the green-fingered owner lovingly tend to it for the last five years.

Aaron says the lush garden - owned by a stranger she's never met - has become a source of daily peace, "joy" and "calm" for her amid city chaos. "

After posting the video online, a woman claiming to be the gardener's granddaughter invited Aaron to visit the rooftop in person - and she intends to take them up on the offer.

Aaron, a global marketer, from New York, said: "I've been living in this current apartment in Manhattan on the west side for about five years now, and I've just seen this man on this rooftop build this beautiful garden."

The garden has become Aaron's daily respite from the chaos of city life - and she says watching it bloom has been a way to ground herself while living in the concrete jungle.

What began as a casual observation has evolved into a meaningful, albeit one-sided, connection.

"It's about noticing beauty in a chaotic world," Aaron said. "

"The way I've been watching this man tend to his garden for five years from afar creates this intimacy and emotional feeling, even though I have no idea who he is."

In her mind, Aaron has crafted a story about the gardener.

She said: "This man that sits there in his beautiful oasis, sipping his coffee, reading the newspaper, and doesn't even realize that people are looking onto his garden and getting a type of sense of calmness that he likely is getting."

The garden's impact has been so profound that Aaron has taken a photo of the scene and plans to print it as a postcard to deliver to the gardener's door, hoping to share her perspective with him.

"He only sees that point of view of him sitting in the garden, but it's completely different when you look at it from afar," she said. "

"You can feel the love and nature and nurture that he and his family have put into it."

The video - which garnered over 200k views on TikTok - was also liked by singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams and famed model and influencer Julia Fox.

After Aaron posted a video of the garden online, someone claiming to be the gardener's granddaughter commented on it - inviting her to visit the garden in person.

"She commented on the video, saying this was her poppy's garden and how excited he would be to hear that we're all loving his garden," Aaron said. "

Though Aaron has messaged the granddaughter, she hasn't heard back yet, but remains hopeful about the possibility of experiencing the garden up close.

The garden's appeal has resonated with others online as well, with many commenting on how it represents "an oasis in this concrete jungle of complete madness". "

"Living in Manhattan, you have to find a way of grounding yourself," Aaron said. "

"This is definitely a way that I've grounded myself, just looking out my window and seeing this garden rooftop. "

Aaron grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and frequently visits her parents' home country of South Africa - both places where gardens are a common and cherished part of daily life.

She added: "It reminds me of home."
