Robots show off their martial arts skills in China
This is the amusing moment robots showed off their martial arts skills in China.
Hilarious footage shows two agile robot opponents battling in the middle of a basketball court during the boxing show at the ZheBA event in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
The humanoid robots, wearing jersey shirts, headgear, and gloves, represented the West Lake district in red and the Binjiang district in blue on July 12.
In the humorous match, the pair faced each other, punching and jabbing into the air despite being only a few inches apart.
They then turned their backs while continuously kicking and raising their arms in front of their faces, demonstrating their combat skills with kicks, shadow boxing, and 360-degree tornado kicks.
Moments later, the blue robot suddenly collapsed to the ground with its legs sprawled out. It then immediately stood up by rolling onto its back before moving back to its feet.
On March 4, the company's founder and CEO, Wang Xingxing, was filmed sparring with a humanoid robot in Zhejiang.
China is among the global leaders in robotics development, using humanoids in community service, autonomous vehicles in security, and service robots in retail and hospitality.
Meanwhile, similar technological strides are being made in the United States.
Last month, a robotic dog was reportedly deployed for security duties at a property associated with President-Elect Donald Trump in Florida.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also unveiled Optimus, a humanoid robot designed to assist with daily tasks, including childcare and housework—further signalling a rising global competition in advanced robotics development.
