This is the heartwarming moment a group of crying puppies persuaded a passing motorcycle rider to adopt them.

The motorist was travelling along a motorway in Surat Thani, Thailand, when he heard the sound of a dog crying by the roadside.

Curious, the man turned his motorcycle around to locate the source of the noise, and found a puppy whimpering in the tall grass on July 3.

Footage shows the pack of adorable strays emerging from the roadside undergrowth and converging on the shocked motorist. The concerned lad then approached the animals and gently called out to them.

They were followed by their mother, which also ran toward him.

The driver joked: 'It looked like they had set up an ambush to corner me into adopting them.'

In another clip, he can be seen stopping to check on the dogs every time he passes by the road.

A group of kindhearted individuals eventually volunteered to adopt the puppies, while a local foundation took in the mother dog and later arranged for her to be spayed.
