HOUTHI SPOKESPERSON YAHYA SAREE DELIVERING SPEECH (Arabic)SANAA, YEMEN - JULY 15 - RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT “HOUTHI PRESS OFFICE” HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO - EDITORIAL USE ONLY - The Houthis in Yemen announced they carried out a drone attack targeting southern Israel on Tuesday, July 15. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said they launched three drones at Israel, with two targeting a military site in the Negev region and one aimed at Eilat Port. Saree described the attacks as “successful” and stated they would continue until Israeli strikes on Gaza end and the blockade is lifted. The Israeli military had earlier announced that it intercepted a drone launched from Yemen in the Eilat area. The Houthis have intensified missile and drone strikes on Israel since Israel resumed attacks on the Gaza Strip in March after two months of a shaky ceasefire. Since November 2023, the group has also targeted commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea in support of Palestinians in Gaza, where nearly 58,500 people have been killed in an Israeli onslaught.
