Los Angeles, United States - July 15, 2025 07/15/2025 10:30 am GMT-0700 VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning following a police chase through Van Nuys. The pursuit concluded near Cedros Avenue and Vanowen Street after the driver accelerated to speeds of up to 80 miles per hour. During the chase, the suspect repeatedly drove on the wrong side of the road, narrowly avoiding head-on collisions with other vehicles. At one point, a bystander threw a chair at the white SUV the suspect was driving as he approached the intersection of Cedros Avenue and Archwood Street. In another incident, a woman stepped onto the road and briefly blocked the suspect's path; it remains unclear whether she knew him. Additionally, video footage captured an unsuspecting civilian stepping outside his car, distracted by his cellphone, as the speeding vehicle approached him.
