Parrot tells best friend dog "I love you" and gives the pooch a kiss
A parrot has become best friends with a dog - kissing the pooch and saying 'I love you'.
Shanna Delle Piane, 24, has watched her one-year-old Quaker parrot called Piwi form a close bond with her husband's pooch.
Shanna rehomed Piwi in February from a lady in Wales.
The parrot had never even seen a dog before but instantly fell in love with their 10-month-old Dachshund-Pomeranian cross called Grimmick.
Shanna and husband Jack Daly, 26, from the Isle of Mull, Scotland, are now entertained daily by the unusual bond between their pets.
Piwi spends most of her day talking to Grimmick, as well as kissing him and preening his fur.
Piwi even follows Grimmick around the floor like a dog and screams if he cries.
Piwi sometimes attacks people who come near them, which Shanna says is hormonal behaviour, but Grimmick lets her interact with him as much as she wants.
Shanna said: "I think she thinks he is her mate."
"I try my best to keep an eye on them when they are together."
"But [Grimmick] has never shown any signs of discomfort around her."
