REDMOND, Wash. — A black bear paid an unexpected visit to the Redmond City Hall campus around 2 p.m. Tuesday, prompting a quick and high-tech response from local authorities.

Redmond Police deployed their Drone as First Responder unit to safely monitor the bear’s movements across the municipal grounds. The drone team was able to track the bear as it explored the area and even took a swim before moving along on its own. There was no threat to the public, and the situation was resolved safely.

Police remind residents to stay clear of wild animals and report sightings to authorities. Maintaining a safe distance helps protect both the public and the animals.
