Los Angeles, United States - July 17, 2025 07/17/2025 02:00 am GMT-0700 VALINDA, Calif. – Law enforcement units from the Walnut area were reportedly involved in a deputy-involved shooting near the intersection of Fairway Drive and East Walnut Drive. According to radio broadcasts, it is believed that a suspect assaulted a deputy with a vehicle, prompting the deputy-involved shooting. Following this incident, deputies initiated a pursuit, which concluded at a residence on the 500 block of North Roxdale Avenue. The suspect fled into the home and barricaded himself inside. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the suspect standing in the doorway of the residence, communicating with deputies. A white sedan, believed to be the suspect’s vehicle, was also noted on the street, cordoned off with crime scene tape. West Covina police and Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies assisted in evacuating residents in the area. One deputy was transported for injuries that were reported to be potentially related to being struck by the suspect’s vehicle. No further information has been provided at this time.
