DUHOK, IRAQ - JULY 17, 2025: Two separate attacks using bomb-laden drones were reported in the Iraqi cities of Erbil and Duhok on Thursday, July 17. The Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) issued a statement regarding the incidents. According to the statement, bomb-laden drone attacks were carried out at 10:50 a.m. and at 10:55 a.m. targeting an oil field in the Tawke area of Zakho, Duhok. The statement did not provide information about the source of the attacks but noted that there were no casualties or damage. In recent days, several bomb-laden drone attacks have been carried out across the KRG, particularly targeting oil fields. In a statement on July 15, the KRG Presidency called on the Iraqi federal government to take all necessary and urgent measures to prevent the attacks, identify those responsible, and hold them accountable.
