LITTLE CANADA, Minn. — A 36-year-old man was taken into custody earlier this week after leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit through multiple Minnesota counties, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began around 1 a.m. when Dakota County deputies attempted to stop the suspect’s gray 2011 Chevrolet Traverse for a traffic violation. Instead of pulling over, the driver fled northbound on Interstate 35E at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

South St. Paul officers joined the pursuit as it passed over the river and through downtown St. Paul. The suspect continued into Little Canada, where Ramsey County deputies took over. With lights and sirens activated, deputies followed the suspect onto Interstate 694, then Highway 10, and finally 35W north.

Deputies ended the pursuit with a PIT maneuver and boxed in the vehicle as the driver attempted to flee again. He was taken into custody and turned over to Dakota County deputies.

Authorities credited the coordinated effort with safely removing a dangerous driver from the roads.
