One of the UK's youngest drag queens said he was 'overwhelmed but grateful' after he received cheers at his prom for his full glam look.

Kyran Vincent - who performs under the name Beaux K - is just 16-years-old and was applauded as he pulled up in a black Range Rover.

The drag queen, from Norwich, Norfolk, stepped out wearing a dazzling red dress with feathers, stiletto heels, a blonde wig and make-up.

Kyran has wanted to be a drag queen since he was in his early teens and has amassed a TikTok following of more than 110k.

The schoolboy, who plans to do a musical theatre college course, said: "Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to go to prom in a dress. "

"It wasn't until lockdown when I started doing drag that I decided to do the whole hair and makeup for prom."

"I hadn't told anyone I was going in drag so it was a surprise."

"My car had a personalised numberplate which said 'Beaux K' - it was incredible."

"Getting out of the car and being met with cheers, screams and hugs meant the world to me."

"It was very overwhelming but I had so much fun. When my teachers complimented me, it made me feel really special and warm inside."

"I'm very, very grateful for the response I got."

The prom took place at Caistor Hall in Norfolk on July 2.

It took Kyran three hours to transform into his prom-ready Beaux K, having done his hair and makeup himself - including his holy grail product of the P Louise eye base.

He was first inspired to do drag after he saw his first ever drag queen at Norwich Pride in 2019 and after seeing musical 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie'.

Kyran said: "I saw that and I thought 'that looks fun'. I then go into watching RuPaul's drag race and makeup influencers."

"The first time I'd done my makeup and put on a wig was May 2020 and since then I've had my first performance in 2023."

"I've gone viral on TikTok and Instagram and I've been given so many opportunities to perform."

Kyran credits his family's support - that of mum Emma, 42, dad Shaun, 43, and his nan Lynn, 68.

He also thanked his former school City of Norwich School for their support over the years.

Mum Emma said: "We are so proud of him. People always say how lucky he is to have such supportive parents."

"But we're the lucky ones for having him."

"We just do what parents should do - which is support our son in doing what he wants to do."

As for his advice to others, Kyran said: "I'll always tell people, don't worry because it will all eventually come back to you and you will be the star you're meant to be. "

"Be yourself. Confidence is always key. "

"If you mess up something or if it doesn't go right, you'll be the only person who knows so don't let it bring you down. "

"Don't let others get into your head."
