The Yemeni National Resistance Forces (NRF), under the command of General Tareq Saleh, have intercepted what they describe as the largest shipment of Iranian advanced conventional weapons in their history.

The NRF reported the seizure of over 750 tons of military hardware. The cargo included hundreds of advanced cruise, anti-ship, and anti-aircraft missiles, as well as warheads, seekers, drone engines, radar systems, air defense components, and communications equipment.

Manuals written in Farsi were reportedly found among the items. According to the NRF, many of the intercepted systems were produced by a company tied to the Iranian Ministry of Defense, which is sanctioned by the United States.

The shipment was allegedly intended for the Iranian-backed Houthis.

This action supports United Nations Security Council Resolution efforts and reflects the NRF’s stated commitment to the security of Yemen, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.

General Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, commended the NRF’s actions, stating, “We commend the legitimate government forces of Yemen who continue to interdict the flow of Iranian munitions bound for the Houthis. The interdiction of this massive Iranian shipment shows that Iran remains the most destabilizing actor in the region. Limiting the free flow of Iranian support to the Houthis is critic to regional security, stability, and freedom of navigation.”
