DEATH VALLEY, CALIFORNIA, US - JULY 18, 2025: A view of Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes was captured on Friday, July 18, as the temperature soared to 115°F (46°C) at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center in California’s Death Valley National Park.

Death Valley, located in eastern California near the Nevada border, is the hottest, driest, and lowest national park in the United States.

The park holds the world record for the highest air temperature ever recorded, 134°F (56.7°C) in 1913 at Furnace Creek, and often experiences extreme heat during the summer.

Despite the blistering conditions, Death Valley remains a popular destination, attracting visitors with its iconic desert landscapes, vast salt flats, and towering sand dunes.
