ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, N.J. — Visitors to Island Beach State Park on Sunday, July 20, were greeted with postcard-perfect conditions to enjoy the shore.
The morning began with an air temperature of 77 degrees and water temperatures just one degree cooler at 76. Winds from the west blew at a gentle 8 miles per hour, adding to the comfortable atmosphere. Safety conditions were ideal, as beach patrol flew green-over-green flags, signaling calm waters.
According to park officials, high tide was expected at 4:33 p.m. and low tide at 10:11 p.m., offering plenty of opportunities for beachgoers to enjoy swimming, sunbathing and shoreline walks.
