Storyline: China-made solar fan hats fan up overseas demand [Voice_over] As temperatures climb across the northern hemisphere this summer, cooling products from China are seeing unprecedented demand on cross-border e-commerce platforms. Among the best sellers is this extra wide brimmed hat with two solar powered fans, made by a company in Yiwu, of east China's Zhejiang Province. The manager at the factory says the hat underwent multiple design iterations, especially regarding the fan's blades, with several of their technologies having been patented in the process. They say orders have booked through August. [Sound_bite] Jiang Yongtao, factory manager: "In the past, we could only produce two to three thousand hats per day, but now our daily capacity has reached nearly 10,000 hats, a significant boost in efficiency. Looking ahead, we're committed to embracing ongoing changes and expanding into the Southeast Asian market." [Voice_over] The hat, and other products in Yiwu City, represent China's growing manufacturing sector which is selling innovative goods to clients around the world. [Sound_bite] Indian merchant: "I've been coming to China for nearly ten years. The products made here are of good quality, cost-effective, and I can always find something new each time I visit." [Voice_over] The factory says their solar powered wide brimmed hat has become a global sensation with more than nine million online views within a 24 hour time period, resulting in over 500,000 overseas orders.
