Incredible moment chimpanzee returns tourist's glasses by gently placing them into basket
On July 17, at the Xixiakou Shendiaoshan Wild Animal World in Weihai, Shandong Province, a visitor accidentally dropped their glasses into the chimpanzee enclosure.
In a heartwarming moment, a clever chimp cooperated with a zookeeper by picking up the glasses and carefully placing them into a collection basket. Even more touching, as the zookeeper pulled the basket back using a rope, the primate gently supported it with its forelimb, perfectly assisting in the “return ceremony.”
The chimpanzee, named Dongdong, is 15 years old and is well known for his intelligence and ability to imitate human behaviour.
Back on July 31, 2022, Dongdong became popular when he picked up a child’s lost sandal from the enclosure and tossed it back with a flick of his arm, earning cheers from onlookers.
Dongdong often interacts with visitors by waving, clapping, and engaging in playful behaviour, making him a beloved figure at the zoo.
