Women Employees Protest In Indian administered Kashmir, Dozens Arrested

Demanding an increase in wages and regularization of their services, a group of Anganwadi women workers and helpers today held a protest in press colony of srinagar in Indian Administered Kashmir, prompting Indian Women police to use force to disperse them. Assembled under the banner of 'Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association', dozens of women staged a protest in Press Enclave to highlight their demands which also included enhancement of monthly wages and pension benefits. They demanded enhancement of monthly wages to Rs 10,000 for workers and Rs 5,000 to helpers.

However, as they started marching towards Civil Secretariat and blocked the traffic, Indian police swung into action and Arrested dozens of Employees.
