A passing motorist saw a woman being dragged along the pavement by alleged snatchers.

Herry Hermawan was manoeuvring on a busy motorway when he spotted the hapless local struggling as a pillion rider tried to snatch her bag on the roadside in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.

Dramatic dashcam footage shows the pair with helmets aboard the two-wheeler, initially talking to their victim on July 15.

Moments later, they grabbed her bag while the woman held tightly onto the handle of her belongings.

This caused the pedestrian to be dragged by one of the suspects until she tumbled and rolled to the ground.

Nearby motorists passing over the road bridge can be seen not intervening to assist the woman and continuing on their way.

The pair then accelerated through traffic, fleeing the scene as if nothing had happened.
