Pakistan and ISIS flags were raised at a protest march organised by separatists leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to protest against proposed Kashmiri Pandits and Sainik colonies in Srinagar, Indian Administered Kashmir. Besides waving the flags of the hostile neighbouring country, protesters raised slogans of 'jeeve jeeve Pakistan'.
Vowing to fight the “ill-designs” of the J&K government, top separatist leaders on Wednesday warned the coalition dispensation to stop its “oppressive policies” or face agitation. These so-called rulers are playing hypocritical politics and lying about separate colonies and new industrial policy,” said a joint statement from Hurriyat chiefs Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik. “The statement of so-called Industries Minister that the industrial policy has been implemented from March 15, 2016 has exposed this hypocritical politics of PDP-BJP government,” the joint statement read. The separatists also referred to news reports about the process initiated by the Government for identification of land in many districts of the Valley for Kashmiri Pandit townships. These reports have come in. Also, a new phase of custodial killings has been started by the Government. The killing of Sheikh Tanveer Sultan of Bemina is an example of this. All these are acts of oppression.
