Elyria, United States - July 18, 2025 After more than five months on the run, escaped suspect Donte Parker II was finally caught by Elyria police on Friday. Officers were called to Riverside Drive and 11th Street just after 11:45 a.m. following a tip about Parker’s location. Upon arrival, police saw Parker fleeing from behind a nearby home. Officer Juker gave chase as Parker ran west into a wooded area toward the Black River. Parker crossed the river, with Officer Juker close behind. On the opposite bank, Parker plunged back into the water, but Officer Juker closed the gap and tackled him to the ground. Parker was arrested and taken to Lorain County Jail, where he remains without bond. He faces numerous charges including escape, resisting arrest, felony obstructing official business, having weapons under disability, two counts of strangulation, aggravated robbery, aggravated menacing, two counts of assault, and unlawful restraint. Captain Bill Lantz praised Officer Juker for his decisive actions. “Officer Juker’s persistence and determination led to the safe apprehension of a violent fugitive who posed a significant threat to our community. His commitment reflects the dedication of the Elyria Police Department to public safety and the pursuit of justice.”
