WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Quick action by law enforcement and dispatch personnel helped contain a major fire at the Red Roof Inn on Wednesday morning.

Sgt. John Banner of the White Settlement Police Department was proactively patrolling when he noticed smoke in the area. He responded immediately and discovered an active fire at the motel.

Corporal Carlos Valladares, Officer Wesley Gregory, and WEST COMM 911 Dispatcher Kim Podsednik assisted in the response, ensuring that emergency crews were quickly alerted and coordinated.

Thanks to the team’s proactive approach and rapid coordination, further harm was mitigated. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
