Shocking footage shows a large rock fall from a cliff face on the Jurassic Coast.

Warnings have been issued after tonnes of rock came crumbling down the west Dorset cliff at around 6am on Monday (21 July)

The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) at Lyme Bay have urged people to stay away.

Chris Gasson, also known as The WestDorsetForager, took the footage - which shows the latter end of the rock fall at Seatown.

Chris, of West Dorset Forager coastal tours, said the collapse was on the west side of the beach.

He explained: "Rock falls to the west and landslides to the east at Seatown."

"They usually happen in the early hours due to thermal contraction "

"The rocks are heated all day by the sun and expand then contract back over night - the coldest temperature they experience is around 4-6am."

The incident comes days after another large fall three miles east of Seatown, at West Bay.
