Los Angeles, United States - July 22, 2025 07/22/2025 02:01 am GMT-0700 HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. – Emergency responders from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Los Angeles County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls about a car fire around 2 a.m. Tuesday on the eastbound 60 Freeway, just before Azusa Avenue in Hacienda Heights. The fire from the vehicle spread to the brush and trees on the right shoulder of the freeway. Everyone inside the vehicle managed to escape safely. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and successfully contained the fire within 30 to 40 minutes of the initial call. During the firefighting operations, CHP closed the number three and four lanes of the eastbound freeway.
