Los Angeles, United States - July 22, 2025 07/21/2025 11:05 pm GMT-0700 BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A traffic collision involving an 18-wheeler occurred on the southbound Interstate 5 transition to the eastbound Interstate 10. The incident was reported just after 11 p.m. Monday when authorities dispatched resources to the scene. All lanes were blocked due to the overturned semi-truck, which was carrying melons. The driver was not injured and was not under the influence of substances. As the situation developed, a hard closure was implemented. Caltrans was notified and issued a closure of the southbound I-5 to eastbound I-10 transition, which was expected to last for approximately four hours. A SigAlert was issued for the incident. Towing services were called, with Pepe's Tow en route with three heavy-duty tow trucks. Shortly after midnight, reports confirmed that the diesel spill from the overturned vehicle had been contained, and hazardous materials teams were not required on-site.
